services
  • Baseplates
  • Available in center, or end hook -ups, with D rings, 3/16" or 1/8" cold
    rolled material.

  • Jaw Lamination  -  inside or out
  • Available in 3/16" square, 3/16"x1/4", 3/16"x1/2", and 1/4" square stock.

  • All traps that I baseplate, get welded at the cross frame, top and
bottom, old chain hook-up hole plug welded, bottom of the pan
post gets welded, and the 90 degree inside corner, where the jaws
insert into the frame, is welded as well...standard procedure.

  • All traps that I laminate, will have a solid jaw face, and flat or
square stock only. I feel this completes the job properly, is
stronger than a cast jaw, and adds a full width and length
gripping surface area; which produces less foot damage.

  • Reinforced & night latched dogs
  • I add a 30d nail to the dog, welded solid, dog eye closed to remove
play and welded so that it can not be removed. 1/16" night latch
engagement, gives no travel firing to your pan.

  • Pan modification
  • Weld the pan to the post, plug weld existing bolt hole and drill a
new one for a 10-32 bolt to remove slop, and lower the pan below
the jaws, which results in better pad or above the pad catches.
    Done on canine traps only.

  • Offset regular jaws
  • 1/8" is standard procedure, re-shape jaws and levers to allow them
    to ride up higher.

  • Jaw tip reinforcement
  • I don't believe in jaw tip bubbling. If the jaws are laminated and
baseplated properly, there is no way a coyote sized animal can pop
the jaws out of the frame. If the trap is being used for lions or
wolves, I weld a 30d nail from the tip, back to the jaw to create a
solid loop around the trap frame, only as extra insurance for
    these powerful animals.

  • Long spring pan tension mods
  • Modify the old style ls to have a 10-32 nut and bolt pan tension
adjustable pan, or a free fall pan with no slop.

  • Custom chain rigs, with or without shock springs, any chain you
desire. My favorite is in the picture in the upper left from this
post. With a double stake ring you can stake any way necessary.

  • Body grip mods
  • 100% closure, new dogs or triggers, modify for faster, crisp
firing with minimal travel, replace rivets, replace springs, metal
pan triggers, install swivel hook-up on spring eye (1/4" c.r.
    material).

  • I make and sell for the trappers that want to mod their own
traps...baseplates, laminations, chew guards, single or double
nail swivels, heavy duty drowning/slide locks, single or double
stake rings, music wire springs or kits.

  • These are just the basics, anything trapping related can be made
to fit your style of trapping, send an e-mail to inquire about your
    specific job or idea.

  • I also offer a one on one, two 8-10 hour day instruction course on
welding and metal working as it relates to the trap
modifications. Stick, Tig, and Mig can be covered. Transportation
to and from mpls/st. Paul airport , and lodging can be arranged.
    Please inquire.
